The details

My name is Jay, I’ve been tuning cars since 2002. It started with DSMs, using an SAFC and a narrow band o2 sensor. Then graduated to chipping the ecu and burning eproms. I played with a Haltec at one point and then eventually, megasquirt came out, I got into that. I started messing with DSMLink (ecmlink now). Then the turbo Honda scene came around, so I played with some Uberdata and Freelog. Then I experienced real time programming with crome. That got me impressed, and spoiled. I still regularly tune with crome. Once Hondata got in the game and pgmfi kinda fell off everyone started going s300, and it made tuning a lot easier. Everyone had their own equipment basically. The down side was, people would hook up after I was done, and I have to email them the file because they changed something they shouldn’t have, or uploaded a base map without saving first. I’ve had experiences with AEM, v1 and v2, Hptuners, SCT, Bullydog, and powercommanders. I’ve tuned carburated 69hp sohc engines, DOHC itb Mitsubishi engines, boosted Honda, Dodge, Mitsubishi 4cylinders, Ford v8s, Mitsubishi twin turbo v6s, Chevy LS engines, Chrysler Hemis, Dodge Viper v10s to 755hp, and much more. I’ll tune just about anything, Gas, Diesel, e85.

I will dyno, or street tune. Most people prefer street, because it’s more real world. A lot of my street tunes are within 10hp if we take it to the dyno.

Rates vary, dyno can be more expensive because of facility rental, but it also depends how long it takes. My base rate is $50/hr tuning, $80/hr mechanicing, $60/hr doing electronic repairs, and $100/hr extra if you’re helping me.
